Blood Sacrifice at Perihelion

The great nuclear furnace in the sky came to its closest point today (or maybe yesterday - details like this don’t really matter in blogland - if you care, count yourself free to do a search on ‘perihelion aphelion date’ to find out for yourself - if you trust stuff you read on the net). It is well known that astronomical events of such great magnitude portent feats of momentous spirituality. Pagans have known this for years. That’s why they have festivities on solstices and equinoxes. Non-pagans have known this for years too. That’s why they have their festivities near solstices and equinoxes. If they had them dead on the solstice or equinox, it would look too much like they were pagans so they have to pick different days.

Time Portals

I’m not here. I don’t mean that I’m not here in the sense that I the author of this (currently) Billy Goat GRUFF! blog am not physically at the site of the WordPress server nor that I am not physically in your room as you’re reading this nor even that I’m not at a computer as you’re reading this. I mean that I’m not signed on to WordPress at the time that this post will appear or has appeared. I say ‘will’ because as I’m typing this and even when I’m done typing this and am pressing the ‘publish’ button, this post will not be visible to you for some time. I say ‘has’ because when you my gentle reader(s) read this, it will already have appeared.

Pillow Constructions

My children like to build houses out of the couch cushions. I can see why. They fit nicely in the little houses that they construct. I used to like to do that when I was their size.
