I’m busy today. I checked my email and found a lovely letter from my internet love. I checked her blog too. I wasn’t planning on doing anything else online today but her most recent post inspired me to take a picture and post it.

Three Times as Long

Exactly. Everything takes exactly three times as long when I haven’t had my coffee.OK. I don’t mean everything. If absolutely everything took exactly three times as long as when I’ve had my coffee, the effect of my coffee wouldn’t be observable. I don’t mean exactly either. I really mean I’m a bit slow before my coffee has seeped into my brain. So, if I were to say have a look at this picture before finishing my coffee, instead of immediately recognizing it for what it is, I’d stare blankly for a moment, focus on the feet, think they’re poking out of the screen, startle at the fact that there are feet poking out of the screen, remember how perspective works, realize that the feet aren’t poking out of the screen, relax and grin in slow motion over a period of three minutes instead of in the blink of an eye.

Concrete Abstract

The humans say things that I don’t understand. I’m used to that. It has a whole lot to do with using words that I don’t understand.
