Discussions and NonsenseCount up all of the people who have ever lived. I think you get about 12 billion. From my standpoint, the number you get depends on two things: how many people have ever lived and how good you are at counting. Growth and development are related concepts. In many cases both words carry positive connotations. For the sake of this discussion, I am not considering uses like ‘tumor growth’ and ‘latest development in the hostage situation.’ In my opinion, the way these words are treated shows an underlying confusion that is damaging to individual people and society as a whole.
