Memory

When I was small, I had a theory of memory. My theory was this. Memory is perfect. It fit well with some of my other theories. I thought that I was perfect and I had a memory. Other people shared some of my properties though not all of them. They weren’t perfect but they did have memory. I automatically applied Occam’s razor and presumed there was just one kind of memory: perfect memory just like mine. Also, I had something that at the time I counted as supporting evidence. I remembered many things as they happened and I didn’t remember a single thing that I knew had not happened. The fact that I used my memory to check my memory didn’t bother me at all.

Errors and Scheduling

My coworkers look like humans. Sometimes that fools me into thinking that they are humans and I accidentally treat them that way instead of thinking of them as drones working their way up in the system. That is, I tell them what I think instead of filtering my thoughts through the lens of my employer’s point of view.

Dystopias for Youngsters

As a youth, I enjoyed reading. That is hardly surprising. I still enjoy it. Something that is a bit surprising is that I liked reading dystopias. The first one that I read was “Animal Farm.” It’s got talking animals in it. You know, for kids.
