A Song about Satan

I think of cars as intrinsically evil. Part of this is because they are evil. There are other factors though. The main one is that whenever I’m passenger in a car, I am whelmed and sometimes even overwhelmed by a feeling of nausea. When I was little, I dealt with this feeling by vomiting. Daddy dealt with my vomiting by stopping the car which in turn trained my body that vomiting will change the state of the world for the better: the car would stop. After a while, I realized that vomiting is pretty unpleasant and I could just tell Daddy that I felt sick and the car would stop for a bit.

Braking News: Drivers Drive Sensibly

Dateline: this morning on my way to work

I looked out my window this morning and saw fresh snow: the first real snowfall of the year. The roads looked icy. I thought, “Great. It’ll take at least an hour to get to work. There will be morons crashed into each other blocking traffic. There will be people driving 10 km/hr. I’d better leave right away and I’ll still get there late. Crap. I have actual work to get done today. I have a lunch date with Alice and I’m going to have to miss it and work through lunch. Crap. Crap. Crap.”

Wide Roads

Cars are one of my least favourite things. They smell. They’re loud. They’re dangerous. And, given where I live, they’re ubiquitous.So, you might think that I’m crazy to live here at my home. Well, where else would I live? Almost by definition, any place I live is the place that I’m going to call home.

The Past and The Future from The Past with Historical Revisionism

I wrote this post more than a year before now. I posted it. I think everyone who has known me for more than a week has read this post. So, you may ask why repost it? Could it be that I want to relive the glory of the past? Nope. That’s not it. Could it be that I’m dreadfully lazy? That would be an excellent guess except that if I was dreadfully lazy, I wouldn’t be writing this introduction right now. I’d just have C&Ped the thing into the post window and clicked the post button. Better yet, I wouldn’t have written it in the first place and if I had I wouldn’t have bothered saving it. So, no. That’s not the answer either. I’m reposting it because I liked it and wanted to have a go at rewriting it. So, that’s what I’m doing.
