Self Limited Propagation

I’m whimsical.

I became convinced to reply to a meme-tag thing. Under normal circumstances, such convincing would take a great deal of effort. It might even be impossible if I decided to be pigheaded (or as I prefer to say as I just said above ‘whimsical’). As usual, these are not normal circumstances. So, I became convinced with hardly any effort. In fact, I think there was no effort at all. I got a comment saying ‘tag.’ I didn’t understand it. A while later, I was looking through some of the recent posts by people that I like to read and I encountered a meme post. I don’t usually read meme posts but I felt like reading that one. I read it. I discovered I’d been tagged with that meme. I thought. “OK. I’ll do that.”

That was it. I didn’t do any reasoning. I didn’t think deeply. I just whimsically became convinced that it would be a good idea to do the meme. By pure coincidence (and no, I’m not saying this sarcastically), I recently did some of the stuff (i.e. making this) that’s required by the meme. I did it because I felt like it. So, I’m happy to do a similar version of it here.

My recent bit of doing of stuff was this. I looked through my blogroll and messed about with it. I removed some of my blogfriends who aren’t currently active. I added a couple of people that I discovered really recently. I thought that might be useful to my regular long time readers. As with all memes, people infected by the meme are supposed to pass it on. I’ve decided not to officially tag anyone. People are welcome to count themselves as tagged if they feel like being tagged; hence the title of this post.

The other requirement for this particular meme is to provide five links to previous posts on some specified topics. Here they are.

  1. Family: I toyed for a moment with the notion of putting up this link. It is a better mixture of serious and silly instead of just silly but then I chose not to.
  2. Friends: I picked this at random. I thought it was funny at the time.
  3. Me: The thing about meme’s is they’re a sort of reuse kind of thing. So, this one seemed to me to be especially appropriate.
  4. Love: I bet you thought I put in a link to Pandemonic. That’s covered already right below the big red dot. (If you’re happening on this post much after it was posted, the dot will probably be gone but the link to Pan won’t be).
  5. Anything: Again, I toyed with the idea of another post.

How’s that for not quite following the rules?

I’m glad you were feeling whimsical. Sorry about the cryptic tag, but I haven’t figured out how to put a link in a comment.

It’s kind of cool that one of your choices inspired one of mine.

Wow. Those brought back some memories, to be sure. I was other people back then. I think we were playing elsewhere then too.

I like the big red dot, and not because it’s right over my name. :-)

I still haven’t done mine. I just realized I have very little to post for some of these, if anything at all. Hhhm. I guess I’ll have to think what I’ll do.

Whimsical. I like that word. I also like how you managed not to follow the rules. I tagged you today but I see now you have already been.
